Les Percussions de Guinée (also a national ensemble)—“world-renowned percussion group made up of the seven master Jembe drummers”has okay information, the only group-specific site I could find Amazones Women Master Drummers—Although not a national ballet, it is a ground-breaking group in that it officially opened the traditionally male drumming field to females as a viable profession. Created by Mamoudou Condé 1998. Of particular interest is the bio of the group written by Mamoudou Condé about its inception and the process of getting support for the group’s creation.
