Wassoulou Music Instrumentation

—The most important instrumental accompaniment in Wassoulou music typically comes from the kamelengoni, also called the “young man’s harp”.

-the djembe drum:

-the karyaing is a metal tube percussion/scraper.

the soku is somewhat like a fiddle:

the bolon is a four-stringed ‘bass’ harp.

Other non-native instruments are used in modern Wassoulou music (electric bass, funky bass)
